Cookie Policy
Two cookies. Here’s what they do.
Last updated: March 10, 2026
We keep this simple because it is simple. Fatement uses a minimal number of cookies. No tracking pixels, no retargeting, no ad networks.
Essential cookies
These are required for the service to function. They are set without requiring consent because they are strictly necessary under the EU ePrivacy Directive.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
fatement_session | Anonymous session identity. Links your browser to your interview data so you can return to your results. Contains a random UUID, never your name or email. | 90 days | HttpOnly, Secure, SameSite=Lax |
cc_cookie | Remembers your cookie consent preferences so the banner is not shown on every visit. | 182 days | Secure, SameSite=Lax |
Analytics cookies (optional)
These help us understand how people use Fatement in aggregate. They are only set if you consent.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration | Provider |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga | Distinguishes unique visitors | 2 years | Google Analytics |
_ga_* | Maintains session state | 2 years | Google Analytics |
localStorage
In addition to cookies, Fatement stores your interview session data in your browser’s localStorage. This is not a cookie and is never sent to our servers automatically. It acts as a local cache so you can see your results quickly. You can clear it by clearing your browser data or by clicking “Delete my data” on the results page.
How to manage cookies
- Analytics cookies: You can decline them in the cookie consent banner, or revoke consent at any time using the cookie settings link in our footer.
- Browser settings: Most browsers let you block or delete cookies. Note that blocking the session cookie will prevent the interview from saving your progress.
- Google Analytics opt-out: Install the GA opt-out browser extension.
Third-party cookies
If you make a payment, Stripe may set its own cookies for fraud prevention. These are governed by Stripe’s cookie policy.
For the full picture on how we handle your data, see our Privacy Policy.
